Parietal Eye

Blue Iguanas have a white photosensory organ on the top of their heads called the parietal eye (also known as the third eye, pineal eye or pineal gland). This “eye” only consists of a rudimentary retina and lens and thus, cannot form images. It is however sensitive to changes in light and dark and can detect movement.
