Each year, 8 million straw-coloured fruit bats migrate to Kasanka National Park in northern Zambia. For around 2 months the bats roost in a small patch of forest in the centre of the park. Each evening they head out into the surrounding forest to feed on fruit and every morning they return to the roost. At dawn and dusk the sky is filled with bats. While the bats were away at night, I entered the bat roost and set up a remote camera. When they returned in the morning, I fired the camera remotely from a canopy tower 200m away. I then retrieved the camera the following night.
